Do not worry, I just want to show you something I observed in the lives of these two men, who despite being super creative, one was much more successful than the other.
Know how.
For those who do not know, we will make a summary of each.
Steve Jobs
Steven Paul Jobs, better known as Steve Jobs (San Francisco, California, February 24, 1955) was a co-founder entrepreneur of computer companies Apple Inc. and NeXT. Created high reputation around its name by carrying out an industrial policy that values innovation and design of its products. Steve Jobs out of the business environment was less known for his contradictory way of acting.
Buddhist, not materialistic, had the habit of walking barefoot and in shorts, reduced his salary at Apple to $ 1, and at the same time had a fortune estimated in 2009 to 5.1 billion dollars. Extremely perfectionist, I came to look pixel by pixel development of his work always applying simplicity. He believes that the organizing team is crucial in the whole process, where it is the group of one man.
Despite numerous controversies presented in his way of being and administer, and many being taken as "unbearable," Steven Paul Jobs was certainly one of today's managers have made and remade all processes and proving for years to be worthy of such title due to his exceptional career success. Bill Gates
William Henry Gates III KBE, GCIH (Seattle, October 28, 1955), better known as Bill Gates, is a magnate, philanthropist, author and, in partnership with his partner Paul Allen, founder of Microsoft, the largest and most known the world software company. It is a pioneer in the personal computer revolution.
It was founded in 1975 by Bill Gates, then 19, in partnership with Paul Allen. The first commercial product of the company was the Altair BASIC for the MITS Altair (Micro Instrumentation Tlemetry System), produced in the same year. In 1980 the company took a decisive step to acquire from Seattle Computer Products operating system 86-DOS.
Gates led the ranking of the richest in the world since 1995, according to the magazine Forbes . His fortune was estimated at $ 130 billion. In 1999, Gates surpassed the US $ 100 billion, but since 2000 the nominal value of Microsoft is falling after the bursting of the internet, and also after several multibillion - dollar donations made by Gates to philanthropic projects.
In the movie Pirates of Silicon Valley, we know a little about life and successful track record of each.
What caught my attention was how Steve Jobs led his team at Apple. Mistreating them and demanding their full commitment and creativity, to the point of your programmers get working 52 hours nonstop, and yet Steve showed irreducible.
While Bill Gates with his wit and say so left field, I knew very well use their ideas favorably to the point of becoming the richest man in the world.
In addition to all this Bill Gates is a very generous man and philanthropist. I once watched on TV Record a report which spoke about the institution that Bill and Melinda Gates help and was impacted.
Steve Jobs was a boastful and arrogant man (my opinion). In the film it is clear how much he underestimated the young Bill Gates. He was betrayed by his own egocentricity, giving the young Bill the opportunity to know the secret of so Macintosh project GUI. And very smart Bill used it to their advantage, building their first software "Windows."
I do not agree with the attitude that Bill had in relation to Steve, but before all that, it was he who triumphed over the computer empire. Microsoft name is a giant in the industry.
What I really convey all this is that a great leader must not only demand of his co - workers hard and efficient work. It should also be a great motivator.
What was missing for Steve?
Dealing with people, treat them with respect and dignity. Machines are cans, humans are heart.
Everyone likes to be treated with respect and have recognition.
Leaders around the world. You're a Bill Gates or Steve Jobs?
I often say that a great leader must have a balanced dosage of Emotion and Reason. No one can be 100% right or 100% emotion just what Steve lacked a bit of humanism, dose your emotions.
Think about it and let your opinion ...
