How to Level Up Quickly in Horizon Zero Dawn

By How to
Horizon Zero Dawn is the new third-person action game developed by Guerrilla, responsible for the Killzone franchise. Available only on PS4 , the title offers an extremely addictive progression system in which Aloy can unlock new abilities. Check out how to quickly evolve to the maximum level.

Exterminate all machines

In Horizon Zero Dawn , the best way to get experience points, be it at the beginning or end of the campaign, is to go hunting for robotic creatures. Although few, encounters with machines allow the farm - the process of killing the same enemies to accumulate points or items - it is important to try to approach by sighting them.

The ideal strategy is to act sneakily, since furtive executions are more generous when it comes to experience. In addition, Aloy is able to eliminate small and medium sized dinosaurs with just one blow. If you go into combat with a larger number of enemies, try to use traps and shots with elemental damage.

If the opponent is a human, take advantage of the ability to slow down time to hit accurate shots in the head, which generates a considerable XP bonus. On the other hand, in clashes against larger machines, the best thing to do is to use the ability to focus with the R3 button and hit attacks at vulnerable points.

Avoid at all costs going into direct battles, since Aloy's blows are weak - and the camera is inaccurate - and hand-to-hand eliminations offer less experience compared to stealthy and stylish executions. If your level is not yet suitable for the main missions, there is no alternative but to hunt.

Climb the Necklaces

Necklaces are colossal creatures that run through specific areas of the scenarios. The species icon is properly pointed at the map, but you must define a strategy to climb the creature in the best Shadow of the Colossus style.

When reaching the top of the robotic animal, simply convert it to have privileged access to the main resources of the region. Synchronizing at the top of Necklaces gives you experience points as well as finding new areas.

Perform secondary tasks and assignments

Like all games that follow the current open-world formula, most Horizon Zero Dawn content is geared to secondary activities. Hunting tasks and complementary missions, for example, both flagged in the mission menu, are essential to evolve Aloy.

Remember, too, to fulfill all the goals in the "Tutorial" tab - there are eight missions in total - that are generated with each new weapon acquisition and can be completed without major efforts. Experience points accumulated throughout the main story are not enough to make Aloy reach the maximum level.

Master Corrupted Areas and Camps

In addition to dozens of traceable activities, there are numerous other activities to be completed, such as corrupted areas and bandit camps. Basically, these locations are dominated by modified machines and hostile humans, meaning they are points with stronger enemies and require more skill on the part of the player.

Corrupted zones are indicated on the map, as well as the recommended level to complete them. If the level of the area is much higher than that of Aloy, it is best to explore the map and find locations compatible with the current level. To find out if a machine is corrupted or not, simply use focus and scan the creature.

Use the fast travel feature

Horizon Zero Dawn is undoubtedly one of the greatest worlds ever conceived in video games. In addition to the number of tasks, the size of the map impresses. However, going from point A to point B can greatly delay Aloy's progress.

It is recommended to use the fast travel feature, available at all previously visited fires. The option is unlocked as soon as Aloy arrives in Meridiana, one of the first places accessible after the introduction.

In Meridiana, you can find the Hunting Material merchant, who sells the Golden Fast Travel Package, an indispensable item whose function is to allow unlimited travel to bonfires and settlements. Make good use of quick travel and accomplish goals faster.
